Avakin Life promotional artwork showing a customized 3D avatar in a stylized virtual world

Avakin Life built a following on one simple pull: dress up a 3D avatar and walk it through a world built for showing off. We wanted that outfit-and-explore loop without the install, so we built Wander City, a small 3D plaza you can walk around right now in this page. Match today’s color combo, reach all three photo booths, and it runs entirely in WebGL with zero downloads and zero signups.

Tap to start, then walk your avatar through the plaza. Best played with the sound on for the photo-booth chime.

How to play

Every player gets the same target look today: a primary and accent color shown as two swatches at the top of the screen. Tap Style to open your wardrobe, pick colors that match, then walk to any of the three booths scattered around the plaza. A match triggers a flash and a point. Miss the combo and the booth just waits for you to come back in the right outfit.

On touch, the left pad walks and dragging the right side of the screen turns the camera. On a keyboard, it is WASD to walk and mouse-drag to look around. Each round runs 50 to 70 seconds and ends the moment you clear all three booths or the clock hits zero. Coins from matched booths unlock more wardrobe colors for next time, and your best score, streak, and wardrobe are all saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Avakin Life

Wander City keeps the part of Avakin Life that actually hooks people: picking colors for your avatar and walking it somewhere to be seen. The daily target combo and the three-booth sprint give that dress-up instinct an actual objective instead of an open-ended closet, and a fresh plaza layout arrives with each new day’s colors.

What it drops is everything that makes Avakin Life a platform rather than a toy. There is no chat, no friend list, no apartments to decorate, no in-game currency to buy, and no other players in your plaza at all. This is a single-player sprint we built from scratch, running entirely on your device with no network calls once it loads.

So when should you get the real thing? If you want to actually talk to people, build out a home, or shop a wardrobe with thousands of items instead of a dozen swatches, Wander City was never going to be that. Ours is a two-minute fashion dash; Avakin Life is the social world it was always meant to be.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Avakin Life in a browser?

Not the real app, which requires the Android or iOS install to access its full world. Wander City, the game on this page, is our own original avatar plaza inspired by that dress-up-and-explore feel, and it runs entirely in the browser with no app store visit needed.

Is this the real Avakin Life?

No. Wander City is an original game we built. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Lockwood Publishing in any way. Every asset is our own code, and the download links above point to the official app.

How do outfit colors work?

Tap Style to open your wardrobe and pick a primary and accent color. The target combo you need is shown as two swatches at the top of the screen and changes with each new day, so match it before heading to a booth. Coins earned from matched booths unlock extra colors for the next round.

Is it free?

Completely. No ads, no purchases, no account, and nothing tracked. Your coins, wardrobe, and best score live in your browser’s local storage.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, Wander City makes no further network requests, so it keeps working even if your connection drops. Avakin Life needs a live connection throughout, since its world and other players are streamed from its servers.
