How to use it
The Today tab is the whole daily routine: one tap on the check button marks a habit done, and a second tap undoes it. Each habit shows its current streak and its best ever, and the chevron expands a 10-week heatmap so you can see the pattern, not just today. “Add a habit” gives you a name field and an icon, nothing else to configure.
Each check-in also earns a little XP toward a level, which is the one game element we kept. The Overview tab shows a monthly calendar shaded by how many habits you completed each day. Everything is saved on your device, and nothing leaves your browser. The Data tab has a plain-text export you can paste into another browser to move your history, plus a clear-data button when you want a fresh start.
One deliberate choice: there are no guilt mechanics. Habitica’s avatar loses health when you skip a daily. Streakline never punishes a missed day, because for most people the shame spiral ends the habit faster than the miss did. Your streak resets, the heatmap shows the gap, and that is signal enough.
How it compares to Habitica
We kept the loop and dropped the game, so we should be honest about what the game does. Habitica’s party quests are a genuine accountability system: your friends take damage when you skip your dailies, and that social pressure keeps a lot of people going long after novelty wears off. Add gear, pets, quest bosses, and guilds around shared goals, and the RPG layer is not decoration. For many users it is the reason the habits stick.
The other hook is sync. Habitica follows you across your phone, tablet, and the web with one account, so a habit checked at lunch is already checked when you sit down at your desk. A local tracker cannot do that. Streakline lives in one browser on one device, and the copy-paste export is a manual workaround, not real sync.
Our honest advice: use Streakline if account fatigue or the RPG framing is what kept you from tracking habits at all, or if you want your data to stay entirely on your device. Is this the real Habitica?
No. Streakline is an original tool we built, inspired by the habit-tracking loop that Habitica gamifies. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to HabitRPG, Inc. in any way. If you want the avatar, quests, parties, and cross-device sync, get the official app from the stores above.
Does the habit tracker work offline?
Once this page has loaded, Streakline needs no connection at all. Check-ins, streaks, the heatmap, and the monthly overview all work offline, and your data is saved locally on your device.
Will my streaks survive if I close the browser?
Yes, as long as you return in the same browser on the same device. Local storage persists across sessions and restarts. It will not follow you to another device automatically; use the export box in the Data tab to copy your history over by paste. Clearing your browser’s site data will erase it, so export first if you plan to do that.
Is Habitica free?
