Hill Climb Racing promotional artwork showing a vehicle driving over hilly terrain

Hill Climb Racing has been eating commutes since 2012, and the reason is embarrassingly simple: two pedals, absurd physics, and terrain that always finds a way to flip you. Fingersoft’s hill driver is the definition of easy to learn and impossible to put down. We wanted that loop without the install, so we built Gravel Rush, a stripped-down physics driver in the same spirit that runs right here on this page. Free, no download, no signup. It starts the moment you tap Play.

Play Gravel Rush now

Tap “Play today’s run” to start. Hold the right side of the screen for gas, the left for brake.

How to play

Two controls, that is the whole manual. On touch screens, hold the Gas button (or the right half of the play area) to accelerate and the Brake button (or the left half) to slow down or reverse. On a keyboard, use D or the right arrow for gas and A or the left arrow for brake. In the air, gas tilts the nose up and brake tilts it down, and landing a full flip pays out bonus coins.

Watch the amber fuel bar. It drains constantly, faster under throttle, and grabbing the fuel cans on the road is the only way to keep a run alive. Flip onto your roof or run the tank dry and the run ends, with your distance in metres as the score.

The daily run generates the same hills for everyone from today’s date, and endless mode serves a fresh random road every time. Your best distance and day streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Hill Climb Racing

Gravel Rush keeps the part of Hill Climb Racing that matters: the gas-or-brake tension over terrain that punishes greed. The physics-driven bounce, the fuel countdown, mid-air tilt control, flip bonuses, and the “one more run” restart are all here, and a run lasts the same one to two minutes. The daily seed adds a twist the original does not have, since everyone in the world drives the same hills each day and distances are directly comparable.

We deliberately left a lot out. Hill Climb Racing has a garage of vehicles, from the starter jeep to bikes, trucks, and stranger machines, each with its own handling. It has a four-part upgrade system for engine, suspension, tires, and drivetrain, and dozens of themed stages from countryside to lunar terrain. Coins there buy real progression. In Gravel Rush there is one buggy, one procedurally rolling road, and coins that buy nothing but bragging rights.

So when should you get the real thing? If you catch yourself queueing a third run here, the full game is the obvious next step. The upgrade grind is the actual hook of Hill Climb Racing, it plays fully offline, and a decade of content sits on top of the loop you just sampled. Our version is the taste. Fingersoft’s game is the meal.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Hill Climb Racing in a browser?

Fingersoft ships the full Hill Climb Racing as a mobile app, not a standalone browser game. The game on this page, Gravel Rush, is our own original physics driver built around the same gas-and-brake loop, and it runs in any modern browser on phone or desktop. For the complete Hill Climb Racing experience you need the Android or iOS app.

Is this the real Hill Climb Racing?

No. Gravel Rush is an original game we built, inspired by the mechanics that made Hill Climb Racing famous. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Fingersoft in any way. All art and sound in our version are original work, and the download links above point to the official app.

Is it free?

Completely. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, and no data collection. Your best distance and day streak are stored in your browser’s local storage and never sent anywhere.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, the game makes no further network requests, so it keeps running through connection drops. For a proper offline game, install Hill Climb Racing itself, which plays fully offline after install.

Why are the hills the same every run today?

The daily run generates its terrain from today’s date, so everyone in the world drives the exact same road on the same day. That makes distances comparable: if a friend reports 900 metres today, you faced the same hills. A fresh road arrives at midnight, which is also how your day streak grows. Prefer variety? Endless mode rolls new terrain every run.
