Pixel Studio feature graphic showing a pixel art editor with a palette and a sprite on the canvas

Pixel Studio is a pixel art editor for Android. You pick a color, tap a square, and a sprite slowly appears. That is a great way to spend ten minutes, but you may not want to install an app just to sketch an icon or doodle a character. So we built Tiny Tiles Studio, a stripped-down pixel editor that runs right here on this page. It is free, needs no signup, and a sample sprite is already on the canvas so you can start changing things immediately.

Play Tiny Tiles Studio now

Tap or drag on the canvas to draw. Pick a tool below it, change the color, and download your work as a PNG when you are done.

How to use it

Choose a grid of 16, 32 or 64 tiles, then pick a tool: pencil, eraser, fill, eyedropper, line, rectangle or the move tool for panning when you are zoomed in. The palette has 16 colors plus a custom color picker. Turn on mirror to draw symmetrical sprites, which is the fastest way to make a face or a spaceship. Undo and redo are always one tap away.

On a keyboard, click the canvas, move the cursor with the arrow keys, and press Space to draw. B, E, G, I, L, R and H switch tools, M toggles mirror, and Ctrl+Z undoes.

Every day the editor suggests a new prompt, such as “a sleepy lighthouse”, picked from the date so everyone gets the same one. Downloading a PNG counts the day toward your streak. Your drawing and streak are saved on this device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Pixel Studio

Tiny Tiles Studio keeps the part of Pixel Studio that matters most for quick work: a tap-to-paint grid, a compact toolbar, symmetry, and instant PNG export. It opens in a second and works offline after the first load.

We left out the rest. There are no layers, no animation timeline, no GIF or sprite sheet export, no palette library and no cloud sync. Zoom stops at 8x and the canvas tops out at 64 by 64 tiles. That keeps the editor small and fast, and it means larger projects belong in the real app.

Use Tiny Tiles Studio for a quick icon, an avatar or a warm-up drawing. Install Pixel Studio when you want to animate, work in layers, or keep a library of projects on your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make pixel art in a browser?

Yes. Tiny Tiles Studio, right on this page, is a full pixel editor with pencil, fill, line, rectangle, mirror and undo. It runs on a phone or a computer and needs no account.

Is this the real Pixel Studio?

No. Tiny Tiles Studio is an original editor we built, inspired by the tap-to-paint workflow of Pixel Studio. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the publisher of Pixel Studio. All of its code and interface are our own.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, yes. Everything runs on your device, so drawing, undo and PNG export keep working without a connection.

Is my artwork uploaded anywhere?

No. Your canvas is autosaved in your browser’s local storage on this device, and the PNG you download is created locally. Clearing your browser data will remove the saved drawing.

Is it free?

Yes. There are no ads, no accounts and no purchases.
