Vampire Survivors promotional artwork showing a pixel-art hero surrounded by a horde of monsters

Vampire Survivors is the game that made “just keep walking” a genre. poncle’s hit gives you auto-firing weapons and a screen full of monsters, and the hook is the snowball: every level-up stacks another upgrade until your build turns the horde into a fireworks show. We wanted that snowball without the install, so we built Night Swarm, a five-minute survivors run that plays right here on this page. Free, no download, no signup. It starts the moment you tap Play.

How to play

Movement is the whole control scheme. Drag anywhere on a phone to steer with a virtual stick, or use WASD or the arrow keys on desktop. Your weapons aim and fire on their own, so every decision comes down to where you stand and what you draft.

Enemies drop blue sparks. Scoop them up to level up, which pauses the fight and deals you three cards: new weapons, weapon upgrades, or trinkets. There are six weapons, from the seeking Star Bolt to the orbiting Razor Halo, and five trinkets. Max a weapon to level 4 while holding its matching trinket and the next draft offers its evolution, a far stronger form. Survive the full five minutes, including the Warden that arrives near the end, and you win the night.

Each day’s swarm is seeded from the date, so everyone faces the same hunt. Your best run and day streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Vampire Survivors

Night Swarm keeps the part of Vampire Survivors that makes it impossible to put down: move-only controls, weapons that fire themselves, level-up drafting, and a horde that builds to a crescendo. The evolution rule is here too, so maxing a weapon while holding its paired trinket still pays off with a screen-clearing upgrade. A run is a tight five minutes, and restarting takes one tap.

We deliberately left a lot out. Vampire Survivors is built on meta progression: gold you spend between runs, dozens of unlockable characters, multiple stages, relics, and a genuinely absurd pile of secrets. None of that is in our version, and we made no attempt to copy the original’s pixel art, music, or roster. Night Swarm draws its own minimal night field instead, and everything resets when the run ends except your best score and streak.

So when should you get the real thing? If you finish a run here and immediately start another, that is your answer. The full game costs a few dollars and is one of the best value purchases in gaming, with hundreds of hours of unlocks across phone and PC, where it also runs on Steam. Ours is the espresso shot. poncle’s game is the whole pot.

Vampire Survivors is a paid app on Android and iOS with no ads, and its mobile version carries the complete content of the PC release. It remains the definitive survivors game: the one that invented the formula, still updated, and still the deepest take on it. Frequently asked questions

Can I play Vampire Survivors in a browser?

poncle does not currently offer an official browser version of Vampire Survivors. The game on this page, Night Swarm, is our own original survivors game built around the same core loop, and it runs in any modern browser on phone or desktop. For the real Vampire Survivors you need the mobile app or the PC version.

Why do weapons fire on their own?

Auto-fire is the genre’s defining idea, and it comes straight from Vampire Survivors. By removing aiming and shooting, the game moves all the skill into positioning and build choices: where you stand, which gems you chase, and which of the three cards you draft. It sounds passive and plays anything but.

Is this the real Vampire Survivors?

No. Night Swarm is an original game we built, inspired by the mechanics that made Vampire Survivors a phenomenon. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to poncle in any way. All art and sound in our version are original work, and the download links above point to the official app.

Is it free?

Completely. There are no ads, no purchases, no accounts, and no data collection. Your best run and day streak live in your browser’s local storage and never get sent anywhere.

Why is my run the same as my friend's today?

The swarm is seeded from today’s date, so everyone in the world hunts the same waves and draws from the same draft order on the same day. That makes scores directly comparable, and a new hunt arrives at midnight, which is also how your day streak grows.
