Yahtzee With Buddies promotional artwork showing colorful dice

Yahtzee With Buddies by Scopely turned a decades-old dice game into one of the most-searched casual games around, and the appeal has not changed since the original: roll, decide what to keep, and chase the category that pays the most. That is exactly the itch people have when they search for a way to play in a browser with no install. So we built Fivefold, a free solo dice scorecard game in the same spirit that runs right here on this page. No download, no signup, no account.

How to play

Each turn gives you up to three rolls of five dice. After the first roll, tap any die to hold it at its current value, then roll again to reroll everything else. Once you like what you have, tap a category on the scorecard to lock in that score. Every category can only be used once, and the score preview updates live so you always see what each row is worth before you commit.

Fill all thirteen categories to finish the card. Score 63 or more across the number rows (ones through sixes) and you earn a 35-point bonus automatically. Every day uses the same starting dice sequence for everyone, so your best card is a fair comparison against what today’s rolls gave other players. Your best score and streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Yahtzee With Buddies

Fivefold keeps the part of the original game that makes it worth returning to: the full thirteen-category scoring system. Three and four of a kind, full house, small and large straights, a five-of-a-kind bonus, chance, and the upper-section bonus all work the same way here as they do in the real rules. The daily seed is our version of a shared challenge, so a session here plays like the quick, self-contained rounds people already like about the format.

We left out everything that depends on other people or a live service. There is no multiplayer, no friend leaderboards, no chat, no daily login rewards, and no in-app purchases. Yahtzee With Buddies is built around playing against real friends and strangers, watching their scorecards fill in alongside yours, and the social pressure of a close final round. A single browser page cannot recreate that, so we did not try. Fivefold is the scoring puzzle on its own, distilled into a session you can finish on a break.

If solving the scorecard here is satisfying, the full app is the natural next step. Scopely’s game adds live opponents, tournaments, themed dice and boards, and the back-and-forth of watching someone else’s card fill in at the same time as yours. Our version is the practice table. Theirs is where the real matches happen.

Yahtzee With Buddies is free to download on Android, with optional in-app purchases and ads that support the free version. It supports real-time multiplayer with friends or random opponents, so it is worth installing once you want to play against another person instead of your own best score.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Yahtzee online for free?

Scopely does not publish an official browser version of Yahtzee With Buddies. Fivefold, the game on this page, is our own original dice scorecard game built around the same roll-hold-score loop, and it runs free in any modern browser with nothing to install. For the licensed Yahtzee With Buddies experience, you need the app on Android or iOS.

Is this the real Yahtzee With Buddies app?

No. Fivefold is an original game we built, inspired by the classic dice-scoring system that Yahtzee popularized. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Scopely or Hasbro in any way. All art, sound, and code in our version are original, and the download links above point to the official app.

Does Fivefold work offline?

Once the page has loaded, the game makes no further network requests, so it keeps working through connection drops. Yahtzee With Buddies needs an internet connection for its multiplayer modes.

Can I play solo, or do I need other players?

Fivefold is built entirely for solo play. There is no lobby, no opponent, and no waiting around: you play against your own best score and streak. Yahtzee With Buddies is the opposite, built around live matches against friends or strangers. If you want the classic scoring puzzle right now with nobody else involved, that is exactly what this page is for.

What is the daily seed?

Each date has its own fixed sequence of dice rolls, so if you play a fresh card today, everyone who plays today starts from the same rolls. It refreshes at midnight. You can still hold and reroll however you like within that sequence, so no two finished cards look the same even on the same day.
