16Personalities app feature graphic showing personality type illustrations

16Personalities is one of the most-taken personality tests online, and most people who search for it just want a quick read on how they tick, not an account or an inbox full of follow-up emails. So we built Mindprint, a free personality-style quiz that runs right here in your browser. Answer twenty short statements, watch your trait chart shift with every tap, and land on one of six original types in a few minutes.

Take the Mindprint quiz now

Tap an answer to move straight to the next question, there is no “next” button to hunt for. It works with a mouse, a touchscreen, or the number keys 1 through 5 on your keyboard.

How to use it

Each question is a single statement, like “I’d rather recharge with a quiet night alone than go out.” Pick from five options, strongly disagree through strongly agree, by tapping a button, clicking, or pressing 1 to 5 on your keyboard. The bar chart below the question updates the moment you answer, so you can watch your traits move in real time instead of waiting until the end for a result.

Finish all twenty and you land on one of six named types with a short description. Retaking is one tap on Retake and takes under a second, nothing to reload or reconfigure. Your last result and a day streak for how many days in a row you have taken it are saved on your device, nothing leaves your browser, and there is no account or email involved. After your result, a short daily reflection prompt appears, a different one-line question each day, the same for everyone, meant as a small daily nudge rather than a claim that your type changes overnight.

How it compares to 16Personalities

Let’s be direct about what Mindprint is and is not. It is an original quiz we built, using our own set of four trait axes and six archetypes we invented ourselves. It does not use the real Myers-Briggs or 16Personalities framework, does not sort you into one of sixteen four-letter types, and is not a validated psychological instrument. Think of it as a fast, honest self-reflection exercise, not a clinical assessment.

What we kept from the original idea: a short series of agree-or-disagree statements, a result that names a type rather than a raw score, and a reason to come back and retake it. What we left out: the full sixteen-type system, the longer question set, account creation, and any framing that claims scientific validity. 16Personalities goes deeper, with a much larger question bank, detailed compatibility and career sections, and a result grounded in an established (if debated) typology.

Our honest take: take Mindprint when you want a two-minute gut check or want to show someone how a trait-based quiz works without either of you signing up for anything. Take the real 16Personalities test when you want the fuller sixteen-type breakdown, the career and relationship pages that come with it, and a result you can compare against a huge, established user base.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take a personality test online for free, without signing up?

Yes. Mindprint is free, requires no account or email, and gives you a result in about the time it takes to answer twenty short questions. Your result and streak are saved only in your browser’s local storage on your device, nothing is sent anywhere.

Is Mindprint the real 16Personalities test?

No. Mindprint is an original quiz we built, inspired by the idea of a short trait-based personality test. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NERIS Analytics Limited, and it does not use the real Myers-Briggs or 16Personalities framework. It uses its own four trait axes and six archetypes.

Does the quiz work offline, and where is my result stored?

Once the page has loaded, it keeps working without a connection. Your last result and day streak live in your browser’s local storage on your device only, they never leave your browser and there is no server-side account behind them.

How is my type calculated?

Each answer nudges one of four trait scales up or down. When you finish, your final scores are matched against six archetypes we invented, and the closest match becomes your result. It is a simplified, self-reflection exercise, not a clinical or scientifically validated assessment.

Can I retake it and get a different result?

Yes, and that is the point. Tap Retake and you are back at question one instantly. Answer a few statements differently and your trait bars, and often your archetype, will shift. Treat it as a way to notice how you are feeling right now rather than a fixed label.
