Cookie Clicker turned “click a picture, watch a number go up” into one of the most-played browser games ever made. There’s no combat, no story, just a satisfying loop of clicking, buying, and clicking some more while the total climbs into numbers you don’t normally say out loud. We built Crumb Foundry, a small original idle clicker that runs the same loop right here, free, with nothing to install.

Tap the loaf to start baking. Best played with sound on.
How to play Crumb Foundry
Click or tap the golden loaf to earn crumbs. On desktop you can also tab to it and press Space or Enter. Every crumb you earn can be spent in the Bakery panel on eight producers, from a Quick Hand that taps for you to an Ancient Shrine that churns out tens of thousands of crumbs a second. Each producer gets pricier the more you own, so the game keeps nudging you toward the next tier instead of letting one purchase carry the whole run.
Come back the next day and you’ll pick up a small streak bonus to your click power, plus whatever your bakery produced while you were away. Everything, your crumb total, your producers, and your streak, saves automatically to your device. Nothing leaves your browser, and there’s no account to make.
How it compares to Cookie Clicker
Crumb Foundry keeps the part of Cookie Clicker that actually matters: click something, earn currency, spend it on producers with a steepening cost curve, watch the rate climb. The eight-tier progression, the escalating prices, and the satisfying click feedback are all here, and we leaned hard into the numbers-go-up feeling with particle bursts, floating totals, and milestone banners as your lifetime crumbs pass each threshold.
What we dropped is everything Cookie Clicker built on top of that loop over more than a decade: no golden cookie random events, no prestige system or ascension mechanics, no achievements list, no wiki’s worth of hidden upgrades and buildings with their own flavor text. Crumb Foundry has one currency and eight producers, not the dozens of building tiers and heavenly upgrades the real game has accumulated.
If you click through Crumb Foundry in an afternoon and want the deeper version, with hundreds of upgrades, seasonal events, and a much longer endgame, that’s exactly when to grab the original. Crumb Foundry is a free taste of the loop, not a replacement for a game people have played for over a decade.

Cookie Clicker is available on Steam for desktop, with achievements, cloud saves, and the full decade-plus of updates the browser version doesn’t always have. It’s also playable for free directly on its official website if you just want the core game without the Steam extras.

FAQ
Can I play Cookie Clicker in a browser?
Yes, the real Cookie Clicker has always had a free official browser version alongside its Steam release. Crumb Foundry, the game embedded above, is a separate original game we built that’s inspired by the same click-and-build loop, not a copy of the original.
Is Crumb Foundry the real Cookie Clicker?
No. Crumb Foundry is an original game built by the Unstore content team with its own name, art, and currency. It’s not affiliated with, endorsed by, or made by the developers of Cookie Clicker. We built it to give readers a quick, playable feel for the idle-clicker genre before deciding whether to grab the real thing.
Does Crumb Foundry work offline?
Once the page has loaded, yes. There are no ads, accounts, or network calls after that, and your progress saves to your browser’s local storage rather than to a server, so it works the same with or without a connection.
Is it free?
Yes, Crumb Foundry is completely free with no signup. There’s no in-game store, no ads, and no premium tier. Cookie Clicker itself is also free to play on its official website; the Steam version is the one with a small price tag attached, mainly for achievements and easier updates.
Will I lose my progress if I close the tab?
No. Crumb Foundry saves your crumbs, your producers, and your daily streak automatically to your device every few seconds. Come back tomorrow and your bakery will have kept producing while you were away, up to a few hours’ worth.
