Cut the Rope 2 feature graphic showing Om Nom reaching for candy

Cut the Rope 2 turned a simple idea into one of mobile gaming’s most recognizable puzzles: swipe to slice a rope, watch gravity take over, and feed the candy to a hungry creature waiting below. ZeptoLab built an entire physics playground around that single gesture. We wanted to see if the core of it, the cut, the swing, the catch, could live in a browser tab with nothing to install. So we built Snap & Feed, a small rope-cutting puzzle that runs right here on this page, free, with no signup.

How to play

Every level hangs a piece of candy from one or two ropes above a small, hungry mouth. Swipe your finger (or drag your mouse) across a rope to snap it, or press the number keys 1 and 2 on a keyboard. Real gravity and pendulum physics take over the moment a rope goes slack, so timing matters as much as which rope you cut first. Some levels add bubbles that pop the candy upward, fans that push it sideways, spikes that end the run on contact, or a button that has to be touched before a gate will open.

Seven hand-built levels are always available from the level select screen, each rated up to three stars based on how clean your run was. A fresh daily level is also seeded from the date, the same puzzle for everyone playing that day, and it feeds a streak counter for consecutive days completed. Your stars, best score, and streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Cut the Rope 2

We kept the mechanic that makes the genre work: a taut rope, a swipe, and real swinging physics that punish a careless cut and reward a well-timed one. The obstacle types are the same broad categories ZeptoLab popularized, bubbles that lift, fans that push, spikes that end the attempt, and buttons that gate progress, scaled down to a handful of levels instead of hundreds.

What we dropped is everything Cut the Rope 2 built on top of that mechanic over the years: the Nommies helper characters, the box-collecting meta progression, the multi-world campaign, and the in-app purchases. Snap & Feed has no ads, no currency, and no account. It also swaps the candy-and-Om-Nom cast for our own creature design, because this is an original game inspired by the loop, not a copy of ZeptoLab’s assets or characters.

So when should you install the real thing? Cut the Rope 2 has 200-plus levels across full campaigns, a much deeper obstacle set, and years of polish behind its physics engine. If you want a puzzle game that lasts for weeks, that is the one to download. If you want two minutes of rope-cutting right now with nothing to install, the version above is already loaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Cut the Rope 2 in a browser?

ZeptoLab does not offer an official browser version of Cut the Rope 2; it ships as a mobile app on Android and iOS. Snap & Feed, embedded above, is our own browser-based take on the same rope-cutting physics loop. It runs on any modern phone or desktop browser with nothing to install.

Is this the real Cut the Rope 2?

No. Snap & Feed is an original game we built, inspired by the rope-cutting and pendulum-swing puzzles that made Cut the Rope famous. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to ZeptoLab in any way. If you want the official game, the download links above go to Cut the Rope 2 on the official stores.

Is it free?

Yes, completely. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, and no data collection. Your stars, best score, and streak are stored locally on your device and never leave your browser.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, the game makes zero network requests, so it keeps running if your connection drops mid-session. To load it fresh while offline you would still need the page cached by your browser.

What happens if I cut the wrong rope first?

On levels with two ropes, cutting them in the wrong order usually sends the candy swinging away from the mouth instead of into it. That is part of the puzzle. Restart is instant, one tap resets the level, so a wrong guess costs a few seconds, not a lost life.
