How to play
Black tiles fall down four lanes. Tap each one in its lane as it reaches the indigo line, or use the D, F, J and K keys on a keyboard. Every hit plays the next note of the day’s melody, synthesized live in your browser, so a clean run literally performs the piece.
Miss a tile, or tap an empty lane, and the run ends. Speed climbs as your combo grows, and every 25 hits raises your score multiplier. Restarting takes one tap.
The melody rotates daily through four public domain pieces: Ode to Joy, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the Fur Elise opening and Greensleeves. Everyone gets the same tile pattern each day, so scores are comparable. Come back tomorrow to extend your day streak. Your best score and streak are saved on your device; nothing leaves your browser.
How it compares to Magic Tiles 3
Keyfall keeps the core loop that made this genre huge: black tiles, four lanes, one mistake ends the run, and music that only plays when you play well. Round length is similar too, with most runs lasting 30 to 90 seconds.
Everything else, we deliberately left out. Magic Tiles 3 has a catalogue of over 1,000 licensed songs across pop, EDM and classical, and Keyfall has four public domain melodies synthesized with the Web Audio API. Magic Tiles 3 has band mode with guitar and drums, online battles against other players, weekly tournaments, seasonal events and a VIP subscription. Keyfall has a score, a daily pattern and a streak counter.
That trade cuts both ways. Our version loads in about a second, works offline once loaded, shows no ads and asks for nothing.
