Pokémon GO built its whole hook around one small loop: walk somewhere, see a creature pop up on the map, and line up a throw to catch it. We built a stripped-down browser version of that loop called Critter Ramble. It runs right here in the page, with no install, no account, and no GPS permission, just a map, a roster of original critters, and a throw mechanic you can learn in ten seconds.
Play Critter Ramble now
Drag to walk, or tap a critter nearby to start a catch. Best played with sound on.
How to play
Drag anywhere on the map to walk, or use the arrow keys or WASD on a keyboard. Walk into a critter to start a catch automatically, or tap one that’s nearby to trigger it yourself. Each catch opens a ring around the critter that pulses in and out. Throw when the solid ring matches the dashed target for the best odds, and watch for a few wobbles before it either sticks or breaks free.
Every ramble runs 75 seconds, and the map layout and featured critters change with the date, so today’s route is the same for everyone who plays and different again tomorrow. Your best score, your day streak, and every critter you’ve ever caught are saved on this device only. Nothing leaves your browser.
How it compares to Pokémon GO
Critter Ramble keeps the part of Pokémon GO that made it stick: move around, spot something, and catch it with a mechanic that rewards good timing over luck. The daily route mirrors the real game’s daily reset, and the wobble-before-capture beat is there too, just built around a ring-and-throw motion instead of a swipe.
What it drops is everything that makes Pokémon GO a long-term game rather than a quick session. There’s no augmented reality camera, no real-world GPS, no gyms, raids, or trading, and no multiplayer. The roster here is eight original critters we designed for this page, not the hundreds of species Niantic has built up over a decade, and there’s no live event calendar or seasonal content.
If you want a two-minute break that scratches the walk-and-catch itch, Critter Ramble covers it. If you want the deep roster, the community raids, and years of progress to chase, Pokémon GO is still the one to install.

FAQ
Can I play Pokémon GO in a browser?
Not the real Pokémon GO. Niantic’s game needs the phone app for GPS, the camera, and account syncing, and there’s no official browser version. Critter Ramble is our original browser game built around the same walk-and-catch loop, playable right on this page.
Is this the real Pokémon GO?
No. Critter Ramble is an original game built by the Unstore content team, inspired by the core loop of Pokémon GO. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by Niantic or The Pokémon Company, and none of the critters, names, or art come from Pokémon GO.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, yes. The map, the critters, and the catch mechanic all run locally in your browser with no ongoing connection needed.
Is it free?
Yes. There’s no signup, no paywall, and no in-game currency to buy.
Does my progress save?
Your best score, your day streak, and every critter you’ve caught are stored in your browser’s local storage on this device. Clearing your browser data or switching devices will reset them, since nothing is sent to a server.
