Ski Safari 2 promotional artwork showing animals sliding down a snowy mountain

Ski Safari 2 is what a five-minute break should feel like: one finger, a snowy mountain, and a run that ends the moment you get greedy. We wanted that slide available in a tab, so we built Frost Run, a real-time 3D downhill runner that lives on this page. You steer a penguin on skis through pines, rocks, and snowmen, hop over crevasses, and chase a score that gets harder to beat every second. It is free, needs no install, and asks for no signup.

Drag to steer, tap to jump. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or A and D to steer and Space to jump. Sound is off until you switch it on.

How to play

Slide as far as you can. The slope speeds up the longer you survive, so the first stretch is gentle and the last one is not. Steer around trees and snowmen, which end your run on contact. Rocks can be hopped if you jump in time. Crevasses cut across the whole slope and always need a jump, and kickers launch you for air time that adds to your score.

Snowflakes add points. A blue bubble absorbs one crash, and a gold star doubles your points for ten seconds.

Every day has its own slope, generated from the date, so everyone playing today runs the same course. Come back tomorrow and it changes. Your best score for the day and your streak of days played are stored in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.

How it compares to Ski Safari 2

Frost Run keeps the loop that makes Ski Safari 2 hard to put down: a continuous downhill run, a speed that only goes up, and a crash that feels like your fault. Runs last one to two minutes, and restarting takes a single tap. We also kept the small rewards along the way, like air time off a ramp and pickups that change how you play for a few seconds.

What we left out is most of the original’s character. There are no animals to ride, no collection to build, no chasing avalanche, and no unlockable characters. We also changed the camera: our slope is seen from behind the rider in 3D, where the original plays as a side-on scene. The slope in Frost Run is checked so that a clear line always exists, so a crash is never bad luck, but it is also a single course type rather than a huge variety of terrain.

If you enjoy a few runs here and want the full experience, with its progression and the creatures that give the series its charm, the original is the one to install.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Ski Safari 2 in a browser?

Not the real game. Ski Safari 2 is an Android app, and it needs to be installed. Frost Run, the game on this page, is our own original snow runner that plays in any modern browser on a phone or a computer, so you can get the same kind of downhill run without installing anything.

Is this the real Ski Safari 2?

No. Frost Run is an original game we built, inspired by the endless downhill loop of Ski Safari 2. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the publisher of Ski Safari 2 in any way. Every model and sound in it is generated by our own code, and the download links above go to the official app.

Is it free?

Yes. There are no ads, no purchases, and no account. Nothing about your play is sent anywhere, and your best score and streak are saved only in your browser.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, Frost Run makes no further network requests, so a dropped connection will not interrupt a run. For a game built for long offline sessions, the installed Android app is the better choice.

Can every course be finished?

Yes. Each daily slope is generated with a guaranteed clear line from start to finish, and every crevasse is short enough to jump with room to spare. If you crash, it was a steering or timing mistake, and the next run starts with one tap.
