Sky: Children of the Light turned flying through a glowing, candlelit world into one of the most soothing multiplayer games on mobile. thatgamecompany built a whole social ritual around gliding, gathering light, and helping strangers along the way. We stripped that feeling down to its purest loop and built Skyfarer, a free browser game you can play right now. No install, no account, no candles to buy. Just glide, collect wisps of light, and land before your glow runs out.

Tap to start gliding. Best played with sound on so you can hear the wisps chime.
How to play
On a phone, drag anywhere on the screen to steer left, right, up, or down, and hold the FLAP button to climb. On a keyboard, use WASD or the arrow keys to steer and press space to flap. Drag the mouse to look around while you fly.
Your flight meter drains as you glide. Flying into a wisp of light tops it back up, and flying through one of the brighter vertical light columns refills it in one big chunk and gives you a burst of lift. Land on the floating island before your glow fades to end the round and see how many wisps you gathered.
Today’s sky, its wisps and light columns, is the same for every player who visits today. Your best run is saved on this device only. Nothing leaves your browser.
How it compares to Sky: Children of the Light
Skyfarer keeps the part of Sky: Children of the Light that hooked people in the first place: the quiet, floaty feeling of gliding through the sky and chasing small points of light. The daily layout, one flight meter, and the small tension of deciding whether to detour for one more wisp before your glow gives out, that pull is the same thing the original game builds its whole session around.
What we left out is almost everything else. Sky: Children of the Light is built around other players. You fly with strangers, hold hands, share candlelight, and unlock capes and instruments through seasonal events that run for months at a time. Skyfarer is a solo run that lasts under a minute, with no accounts, no cosmetics, and no other people sharing your sky. There is no story, no realm to explore, and no spirits to befriend.
If you just want to feel what the flying is like on a break between meetings, Skyfarer does that for free, right in your browser. If you want the actual game, its music, its world, and the community that grew up around it, you will want the real thing. We built Skyfarer as a tribute you can play in ten seconds, not a replacement for it.

FAQ
Can I play Sky: Children of the Light in a browser?
Not the actual game. What you can play right on this page, for free, is Skyfarer, our own browser game inspired by its flying and light-gathering. It loads instantly and needs no download.
Is Skyfarer the real Sky: Children of the Light?
No. Skyfarer is an original game we built, inspired by the core feeling of gliding and collecting light. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by thatgamecompany.
Does Skyfarer work offline?
Once the page has loaded, yes. Skyfarer runs entirely in your browser with no server calls during play, so a spotty connection will not interrupt a run.
Is Skyfarer free?
Yes, completely. There is no account, no purchase, and nothing to unlock inside the game.
Where is my best score saved?
In your browser’s local storage on this device. We don’t collect it, and it won’t follow you to a different phone or computer.
