Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 key art showing a skater grinding a rail

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater made a two-minute run feel like the whole point of a video game: ollie, grind, air out, chain it all before the clock hits zero. That loop is why people still search for a way to play it at school or at work with nothing installed. We built Grind Park, a free 3D skatepark game that runs right on this page, so you can chain a combo in the next ten seconds without touching a console.

Play Grind Park now

Tap to skate, then ollie onto a rail or off a ramp before the timer runs out. Best played with sound on.

How to play

On a keyboard, WASD or the arrow keys skate around the park and space ollies. Hold a direction while you are in the air to throw a trick, then let the physics decide if you stuck the landing. On a phone, drag the stick to skate, tap OLLIE to jump, and swipe the right side of the screen while airborne for the same trick.

Land on a rail to start grinding automatically; points build up for as long as you stay on. Every park has the same layout, but one rail lights up as today’s bonus target and a gap-score goal changes with the date, so there is a fresh reason to run it again tomorrow. Your best score saves on your device, and nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2

Grind Park keeps the part of THPS that actually hooked people: short runs built entirely around chaining ollies, grinds, and airs into one combo multiplier that a bad landing wipes out. The tension of holding a trick just long enough to land it clean, then immediately looking for the next rail, is the same feeling in miniature.

What it drops is everything around that loop. There is no create-a-skater, no roster of real pros, no licensed soundtrack, no career mode with goals in every level, and no multiplayer. The park here is one original layout we built from scratch, not a recreation of the Warehouse or School II, and it never changes shape from day to day, only the bonus target does.

That trade-off is deliberate. Grind Park is a two-minute itch you can scratch between tabs. Once you want more parks, real skaters, a level editor, or friends in the same session, that is where the actual game takes over, and it is worth buying for exactly that reason.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater in a browser?

Not the actual game, since it is a paid PC and console release with no browser version. Grind Park, the game on this page, is our own skatepark trick game built to run entirely in the browser, so you get the ollie-grind-combo loop without installing anything.

Is this the real Tony Hawk's Pro Skater?

No. Grind Park is an original game we built, inspired by the trick-chaining loop that made the Pro Skater series famous. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Activision or the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise. The park, the skater, and every sound effect are our own, and the download link above points to the official Steam page.

Does it work offline?

Once the page loads, Grind Park makes no further network requests, so a dropped connection will not interrupt a run. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 needs a connection for online multiplayer and matchmaking, but its single-player career mode runs offline too.

Is it free?

Completely. No ads, no account, and no purchases. Your best score and today’s target live in your browser’s local storage and never get sent anywhere.

What is the daily bonus rail?

Each day, one rail in the park is picked at random from the date and marked as worth double points, alongside a gap-score target for the day. The park itself never changes, so the challenge stays fair; only the target moves.
