How to play
Every puzzle gives you a small crossword and a circle of five to seven letters underneath it. On a phone, press a letter and drag through the others to build a word, then lift your finger to submit it. On a keyboard, type the word and press Enter. Words that match a slot in the grid fill in immediately. Real words that are not part of the grid still count as bonus finds, which is often the more satisfying part once the main grid gets tight.
You get one free hint per puzzle if you get stuck, a shuffle button to reorder the circle, and a new date-seeded daily puzzle that is the same for every player on a given day. Solve the daily to keep your streak going. Your best time and streak are saved on your device, and nothing leaves your browser.
How it compares to Words of Wonders
We kept the part that matters: drag the circle, fill the crossword, grab bonus words along the way, with a daily puzzle as the reason to come back. A round takes two to five minutes, which is enough for a coffee break without eating your whole afternoon.
We left out a lot on purpose. Words of Wonders ships thousands of levels spread across a world map of cities and landmarks, with a travel theme, daily quest chains, timed events, and a soft economy of coins and boosters that nudges you toward the store. Letter Grove has a rotating set of hand-built puzzles, one hint, and a streak counter. That is the entire feature list.
The trade-off is straightforward. Words of Wonders is free to download with ads between levels and in-app purchases for coins, extra hints, and an ad-free pass. Our version has no ads and nothing to buy, but it also does not have a world map or a story to chase. If you want the long campaign and the scenery, install the real game.
