How to play
On a phone, drag the wheel at the bottom left to steer and hold GAS to accelerate. Hold DRIFT while turning to slide the car sideways for style points instead of gripping through the corner. On desktop, use the arrow keys or WASD to steer and accelerate, and hold Space to drift.
The goal is simple: reach the pulsing marker before your timer hits zero. Each delivery adds points and a few extra seconds, and a new marker appears somewhere else in the grid. Hit one of the ramps scattered around the map for air time, and chain drifts and jumps back to back to build a combo multiplier that makes every following point worth more. Your score and best run are saved on this device, nothing leaves your browser.
Today’s delivery order is the same for everyone who plays right now, based on the date. The city’s roads, buildings, and ramps never change shape, so every route is fair and always completable. Only the order of stops and the color palette rotate day to day.
How it compares to GTA 5
Chrome City keeps the parts of GTA 5 that make an open-world drive fun on their own: a car with weight and drift, a city grid you can explore in any direction, ramps to launch off, and a reason to keep going for one more run. Restarting takes a tap, and chasing a better score against the clock is the entire loop, the same pull that turns a quick GTA Online cruise into an hour behind the wheel.
We left out everything that makes GTA 5 a genuine open-world game. There is no story, no missions, no weapons, no other characters, and nothing close to Rockstar’s Los Santos with its detail and scale. Our city is built from simple low-poly shapes drawn in code, on purpose: no crime, no violence, just a driving sandbox that loads in a couple of seconds instead of downloading for hours.
So when should you get the real thing? As soon as you want more than driving: GTA 5 has a full campaign, GTA Online’s persistent world, hundreds of vehicles, and years of content updates.
