Melon Playground’s appeal has nothing to do with winning or losing. It is a box of physics toys: ragdolls, explosives, and weapons you drop into a sandbox to see what happens. We wanted that same “just five more minutes” pull without an install, so we built Ragdoll Rig, a real-time 3D physics toy that runs right here on this page. How to play
Every day a fresh rig of two or three ragdolls is generated from the date, so everyone gets the same setup to wreck. You have about 50 seconds to launch, grapple, and blow ragdolls as far off the platform as you can; your score is based on how far you send them. On touch or mouse, drag any joint to fling it, or switch the tool button to BOOM and tap a spot to plant a charge that detonates a moment later. On a keyboard, arrow keys cycle through targets and Enter triggers whichever tool is active, with T to switch tools and R to restart.
When the timer runs out, drop into free play: the timer disappears, your charges are unlimited, and you can spawn extra ragdolls and props to keep the chaos going as long as you like. Your best score and daily streak are saved on your device, and nothing you do here ever leaves your browser.
How it compares to Melon Playground
Ragdoll Rig keeps the part of Melon Playground that hooks people first: jointed ragdoll figures that flop, swing, and go flying when you hit them, plus an explosive you can drop anywhere and a sandbox that never tells you you’re doing it wrong. The physics runs on our own verlet-based simulation, the ragdolls are built from procedurally shaded boxes and spheres, and everything reacts to gravity, impacts, and collisions in real time.
What we left out is most of the toybox. Melon Playground ships dozens of weapons, vehicles, a much larger sandbox, and a big community of user-made mods; ours has exactly two tools and a fixed stage sized to load instantly in a browser tab. There’s no inventory, no unlockables, and no way to save a custom scene between visits beyond your score.
So when should you get the real thing? If the two tools here already have you laughing at a ragdoll cartwheeling off the platform, you’re the target audience for the full app. Melon Playground gives you the entire arsenal, a bigger sandbox, and a community sharing new scenes constantly. Yes, on your device. Your best score and daily streak are stored in your browser’s local storage and restored when you come back, for as long as you’re using the same browser. A new rig arrives every day, which is also how your streak grows. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Is it free?
Completely. No ads, no purchases, no account, no data collection. Melon Playground itself is free to download too, though it offers in-app purchases for extra content, so trying the loop here first costs nothing either way.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, the game makes no further network requests, so it keeps running through connection drops. For the full modding and content library, you’ll still need the Melon Playground app itself.
