How to play
On a phone, drag anywhere to orbit the camera and pinch with two fingers to zoom. Tap a glowing object, like the mug on the counter or the lamp by the bed, and it plays a short scene: steam rises, a door swings open, a character waves. On a keyboard, drag with the mouse to look around, click to interact, and the arrow keys nudge the camera too.
Each day features six moments out of twelve possible ones scattered through the kitchen, living room, and bedroom, so what you are hunting for changes daily. Your count for the day, your best day, and your lifetime total all save on this device, nothing leaves your browser. Find every featured moment and a small banner marks the day complete.
How it compares to Toca Life World
Little Rooms keeps the part of Toca Life World that hooks people first: click on something, watch a small charming animation, move to the next thing. There is no goal, no timer, and nothing to fail, which matches the real app’s tone exactly. Three rooms, twelve interactive objects, and a soft color palette are enough to make tapping around feel satisfying for a few minutes at a time.
What we left out is most of what makes the paid app worth returning to. Toca Life World ships dozens of locations across a sprawling explorable world, not three rooms, plus expansion packs sold separately for new settings and characters. Character customization is a huge part of the original: outfits, hairstyles, and skin tones for every character you create, none of which exists here since our two characters and one teddy bear are fixed. Saving your own custom scenes and visiting friends’ worlds, both central to how kids actually play the real app over weeks and months, are also missing, and our version resets its cast of moments every day instead of keeping a persistent save.
If you find yourself wanting to dress up a character, buy a new location, or show a friend the house you built, that is the signal to get the real app. Little Rooms is the five-minute taste. Toca Boca’s game is the version kids come back to for months.
